Jubilee Celebration
On Monday 12th July at Henderson, Sisters Teresa and Jacqui celebrated their silver jubilee.

Fr Kamoa, the celebrant, reflected on the canoe symbol the sisters had chosen. “I remember the sisters sailed in canoes from their home villages to come to Gizo for their first profession. The canoe also represents their journey in spreading the Gospel. He thanked the two sisters and told them to continue share the Word of God to all and do Gods mission even in their difficult times in facing the hardship of this world”.
Sr Jacqueline said, “God is the anchor that has sustained me all my life – in difficult moments, in good moments.” She said, “For me, God is always there.”
Meanwhile, Sister Teresa shared that their journey through life is like a canoe and Jesus is the skipper and sometimes the sea is rough but with Jesus as the skipper, the ship will reach its destination.
Both sisters credit the presence of the Dominican Sisters, their families, friends and especially their parents for helping them recognise their call to religious life.
The night ended with entertainment, cutting of the celebratory cake, presentation of gifts and dances, before all reluctantly headed home, renewed in body, mind and spirit.
