Grant us a holy discontent. Challenge us to Your justice.
Proclaim the truth and do not be silent through fear.
God speaking to Catherine, adapted by S Flynn:
- I gave you eyes to look at the sky and everything else and the beauty and wonder of creation through Me.
- I gave you ears to listen to my Word and to pay attention to the needs of all the human family, and especially to your neighbours.
- I gave you your tongue to proclaim my Word, to speak truth, to be the voice of the silenced, to turn away from self-absorption for the salvation of others and their dignity.
- I gave you your hands to serve our human family so whenever you see them downtrodden and sick, you will reach out to them in their need.
- I gave you your feel to carry you to places that are holy and useful to your neighbours for the glory and praise of my name.
We who taste in prayer and study the fire of God’s truth and love for us are inescapably called to rise up impassioned for the world’s healing. Catherine of Siena
She was a voice, a warning, a torch when truth was dimmed and life was deceptive and days were dark. Joan Chittester
