Twenty four Dominican Prioresses or their Delegates, of DSIC (Dominican Sisters International Collaborative), representing the following countries – Philippines, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Australia, Solomon Islands and India, recently came together in Manila. They represented the twenty two Dominican Congregations in the Asia-Pacific
The goals and objectives of DSIC are:
- To support one another in living out the Dominican charism and to claim and promote our identity as women preachers.
- To facilitate communication and networking among Dominican Sisters within the country, among Asia-Pacific Zones, and at International levels.
- To foster a more compassionate world order through the promotion of peace and justice, the integrity of creation and human rights, especially those of women.
- To explore and foster collaborative initiatives within the Dominican Family.
The purpose of the gathering was to look at new structures within our region; enhancing communications; networking as well as addressing current issues for the life of the Congregations both nationally and internationally.
Throughout the days, each Congregation had the opportunity to share their story which was very moving and most enlightening.
